Yay! I mailed the first round of homestudy paperwork to Carolina Adoption today! I wasn't allowed to take a photo inside the post office, so I asked someone to take my picture out front:
I sent my home study papers out this week too, we are with different agencies but at the same point in the journey, it will be nice to read your blog as you and I move along :) Anne
Anne, what agency are you with? Let me know when you are assigned a social worker! My husband and I are betting about when we'll get that phone call. He says by next Wednesday, I think later (there was an awful lot of paperwork to process). Kerri, I got the idea from someone else's blog!
HI Kyra - Just checking in with you to see how things are moving along, do you have your home study writer yet, visits scheduled, done?? I had a homestudy visit last Thurs and Fri, keep meaning to do a post on it but haven't gotten to it yet. I can report that after cleaning and organizing my house from top to bottom she didn't open one single cupboard or closet door and barely peeked in the bathrooms! Oh well, at least now my house looks amazing!
Hi Anne, We have our first visit scheduled for Sept 21. It took a little longer than I thought, but it's OK because I just started a new school year and am completely swamped with work. I hope we find the time to give the house a good cleaning this weekend.
Hey Kyra - I'm a teacher too! Kindergarten! And I TOTALLY understand the swamped thing. My first home study visit fell on the second week of school, yikes! SO happy its behind me now. I'm sending you beautiful clean house/wonderful home study vibes :)
Woo-Hoo!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cindy! Our papers went out yesterday and were accepted today, and at least one of our references has already been contacted!
ReplyDeleteYou just have to celebrate all the milestones! Way to go!

ReplyDeleteCongratulations! And good thinking getting a photo - I wish I had documented more of our earlier milestones.
